Beginner Birding

You’ve probably seen all kinds of birds flying through your yard or sitting on a telephone pole, but rarely knew what you were looking at. Here is your beginner’s guide to birding! We will meet at Lakewood Discovery Center to learn about bird biology, behavior and morphology. You will learn some basic tools in identifying the different families and species of birds. As a class, we will then venture outside for some observation in Lakewood Park.

You will connect with other chess players while improving your skills. Please bring the chess set you received in Introduction to Chess to each class.

Though increasing in interest, native plants are also frequently misunderstood. In this class, you will learn about the many advantages of including native plants in your landscape plan. You will also explore some of the myths about native plants you need to know prior to planting them. Afterward, you’ll be prepared to make the most of using native plants in your own landscape.
